Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

This was a very quick two day trip for us as we were headed to the Disney Wish afterward.  We booked a 1-bedroom suite on the club-level for the five of us (my mom traveled too!)

Thoughts after we stayed.

1. It's far but worth doing if you spend a whole day at the resort to enjoy the animals.

2. The history in the artifacts there are amazing.

3. The club-level looks out into the main lobby and it's one of the most unique.

4. I would stay there again but only on a split-stay, as we like to walk to some of the theme parks.

History

I'm a social studies teacher so this one hit me hard.  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has more African historical artifacts than the Smithsonian.  WHAT?!?!

It's true and you'll find them EVERYWHERE!  It's a cool way to stop and explore the resort and get a little education in while you do.

Location

I thought this location would be great for visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom Park.  It's super close in proximity but you still have to take a bus to the park.  I'm use to Disney's Yacht and Beach Club where you can walk to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.   This resort does NOT give you the same perks with Animal Kingdom.

It's also fairly far from the other parks.  You'll spend. a decent amount of time traveling to the other three theme parks.

With that being said, the BIGGEST PERK of this resort is its location to the Savannah and the animals.   We have so many photos of our boys sitting on the deck and watching the animals stroll by.  But if you are using this as a perk, you need to use it.   A few minutes to enjoy is nice but spending time there to enjoy the animals is even better if you are choosing this resort.   I recommend making one day a resort day at this location!

Transportation

You have two options to get to the other three theme parks or Disney Springs:  bus or Minnie Van.
