Concierge Level Perks
I have sailed both concierge and non-concierge on Disney Cruise Line. Although I believe that Concierge Level is best for my family currently, it may not be for yours. Here are the listed facts to help you decide!
Concierge Level Perks
Port Arrival Time
When staying Concierge, there is no port arrival time for you to choose - so waking up at 12am to secure your early PAT is not a thing. You have the earliest arrival window, which means that when the terminal opens for Guests, you can arrive at your leisure. I originally had us booked through DCL on a bus from Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. After thinking about it, we always take private transfers from the airport, so I decided to call the concierge line to see if we could get a private transfer reserved. They assisted and a private transfer was to pick us up in the morning. They never showed. We ended up getting to the port on time for an early arrival but by taking a (stressful) trip in a cab. Next time, I’ll be taking DCL bus transportation!
Terminal Lounge
Arriving at port early, gives you access to the concierge lounge at the terminal. It is a nice, cool room to wait in before boarding the ship. Water and soft drinks are available here while you wait.
Embarkation
Boarding the ship, as Concierge Guests you are offered a lunch that is specifically for Concierge Guests. I can’t comment on it because we chose to go to the lounge to check it out for ourselves for the first time! It was a great call. There was a restroom to change in and snacks were already available for us to munch on before starting our day.
All Concierge level rooms are available to enter earlier than other staterooms. This is another perk if you are traveling with little ones that may want a nap after a long travel day!
Concierge Lounge
The Concierge Lounge is open to coincide with all meals of the day including evening treats. You’ll find small plate foods and snacks all day, in rotation. Alcoholic beverages are free of charge from 5pm-10pm each day. And you will find a fantastic coffee and tea bar open all day. Water and soft drinks (milk too!) are included in the lounge all day.
Early Entry to Evening shows
Another perk you’ll want to consider is the Early Entry to the evening shows on board in the theater. Although it doesn’t sound like much to write home about, 40 minutes before the show, Concierge will meet you outside the doors to the theater on deck 2. You will enter the theater and choose any seat you’d like before the rest of the ship gets to enter. Once the doors open, you can exit the theater and get FREE POPCORN. Maybe not a perk for you but my kids LOVED IT and it kept them entertained while we waited!
Outdoor Deck
The Concierge Level also includes an outdoor (2 decks on this ship) area with two hot tubs, a small dipping pool, and loads of loungers to relax. I loved the complimentary kids and adults sunscreen on the deck!
Booking Onboard Activities and Exursions
There was one more perk that Concierge offers for Guests… early booking of onboard activities and excursions. At the 130 day mark before your cruise embarks, even before Pearl Castaway Club members (those with the most sails and benefits), Concierge Guests can send an email to the Concierge email address requesting any activities they would like on their vacation. This is where we decided to request a cabana for our day on Disney’s island, Castaway Cay. Read more about that below…
Disembarkation
Finally, when it’s time to say goodbye to all of your friends, disembarkation is a breeze when you are Concierge. You will meet a Concierge host on Deck 12 that will fill an elevator and send it straight to Deck 2. A Concierge host will meet you in the main atrium and escort a group of you off the ship. It is a true time saving process after a vacation that was so fun you forgot your extra shut eye! I would guess we saved 30-40 minutes based on the line to disembark.
