Disney Fairy Tale Weddings
We got 're-married' for our 10th Anniversary at Walt Disney World with 55 of our best pals. It was, literally, a fairytale.
We had a welcome reception at Disney's BoardWalk Resort.
We hosted everyone to dinner, dancing and fireworks at EPCOT.
Grand farewell breakfast was at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings (and Vow Renewals!)
What was the planning like?
You start with an intake planner. I called about a year out from our event and they begin the process of pricing and figuring out what is best for you. I wanted a late evening in front of Cinderella Castle but because I also wanted the event in October, we couldn't make that happen. We chose Place de Remy in EPCOT instead.
You are then paired with an event planner that takes care of everything. This person will be at your actual event as well. They will Zoom call and email back and forth to make sure you are pleased with everything. Ariel was our planner and she was AMAZING!!!
Tell me about your event.
We hosted three 'events' during the short weekend we were at Walt Disney World and all of our guests stayed at Disney's Yacht Club. (You do have the option to block rooms at multiple levels to accommodate all budgets!)
Our first hosted event was at Disney's Boardwalk Resort on Thursday evening. It was supposed to be outside under the pavilion by The Cake Bake Shop. The weather didn't cooperate so they were kind enough to move us into one of the ballrooms that had a lot more comfortable air conditioning and a lot less rain. We had a buffet meal with a custom cake and open bar. Chip and Dale showed up as well. Our guests were able to watch the fireworks from the nighttime spectacular at EPCOT when they left the event as they headed back to Disney's Yacht Club.
Friday, we hosted our vow renewal. A charter bus picked us up around 6:30pm for EPCOT. We had to enter through a back entrance with specific security for the group. They guided us to our event location at Terrace de Fleurs in France in World Showcase. We had drinks and dinner while we waited for the nighttime fireworks spectacular! Our photographer took photos during the fireworks show. We paid for the videographer as well and I'm so very happy that we did! It turned out great!
When the park was cleared, we headed to Place de Remy (by Remi's Ratatouille Adventure) for our quick exchanging of vows!).
We then went back for some DJ music and dancing, cut the cake to enjoy and brought out all of the characters!
The charter bus was on cue to go back twice to the resort at 12am and 1am.
Finally, we had everyone to breakfast at Citricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The charter bus picked us up again in the lobby of the resort. We headed to Disney's Grand Floridian where they had a buffet ready for us with a breakfast I had chosen. Tea, coffee, and juices were all included. Many guests left for Magic Kingdom Park after the breakfast.
Okay, what does it cost?
Let's not try and sugar coat it. Even the website tells you that a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding starts at $25,000. If you create a more premium setting and time, you'll add to that cost quickly.
I didn't find the food costs to be anything extravagant.
I'll leave this information here though. My vow renewal for 55 people in 2024 was around the same price as my wedding in the Bahamas in 2014 for the same amount of people. Both had fireworks, lobster and steak, and professional video and photography. All things were very similar.
Details
-
I got to have Chip and Dale dressed in tuxedos at our Welcome Reception. What is better than that!?!
-
Mickey, Minnie and Donald all showed up at our actual event in EPCOT in the outfits I chose for them. Minnie isn't typically seen in the a long dress, so I picked that.
-
The bake staff made an 'I'm celebrating' button cake for me by custom order.
-
We had two special order meals that got to the person at each event. And I had an uncle who can eat only sugar-free options and the catering group got him his specific desserts each day.
