Keys to the Kingdom Tour

• We started our day with check in at Town Square in Magic Kingdom Park at 7:45am for the 8am tour.  Back in the day, there was a separate entrance for pre-park opening dining reservations and tours.  This is not the case anymore. 

• The park was to open for Early Theme Park Entry at 8:30am.  My assumption was that Cast Members would open the park for visitors to start walking in around 8am. **I was off; they allowed us in around 7:45am.** But, because we are annual passholders, our line was 10-15 people. 

• If you are traveling to this early check-in, consider being the first ones in line when the park opens or picking a bit later time slot.  I would have been stressed waiting to enter the park behind a line of 50 people at 7:50am.

• The website when I booked told me that we were to check-in by 7:45am for our 8am tour.  At check-in, we chose our lunch, got our headsets and met our guide.  As of June 2023, Pecos Bills was the lunch choice and there were menu items for all food allergies/etc.  Lunch was around 10:30-11am. 

• This is a 5 hour tour that can take longer depending on the day. M ke sure you plan for the tour time and the time to return to your resort, or simply make this a Magic Kingdom day for you!

• This is 5 hours of walking and sitting and standing.  We had a wheelchair with us on our tour, and it is accessible.  Be prepared to be on your feet. 

• This is a tour full of fun facts and basic core values of the Walt Disney Company. I  won't go into detail... take the tour if you want to know more!!

• I found the tour to be informative and a great way to spend my morning.  I did say to my husband around lunch time, I wish the tour was only 4 hours.  4 hours seemed like a nice amount of time.  5 hours was long for me and I LOVE DISNEY WORLD!

• This is NOT a kids tour by any means.  Older children - above 16 - may find it interesting if they grew up in a house of Disney magic.   Othe

At the end of our tour, I was the one searching for a tissue when our guide was discussing the dreams and the legacy of the Disney brothers.  Roy has always been a fascinating figure to me and he was discussed at length during our tour.  

• Will I take the tour again, no, not for a while. 

• Would I recommend it, yes but only for real Disney people.  This tour could either spoil the magic for those without a love of the customer service and detail of Disney OR it could make you see the detail and customer service in every widow, flag, elephant and character face at Magic Kingdom Park.
