Tips for Securing Your runDisney event

Prior to Registration Day

runDisney registration has entire Facebook and Twitter posts/hashtags dedicated to the process! This isn’t your average, hear about the event and stroll in to register at your leisure anymore. Prior to registration, I do two things.

I log-in to my runDisney account and make sure I remember my password! (Create an account if you don’t have one!)
I set my alarm on my phone for the 10am registration and then set three alarms for 15 minute increments prior to the start.

Registration Day

On registration day, when my alarms begin to go off, I open two devices - my computer and my phone. I make sure that I am signed-in to runDisney with my runDisney account. I go to rundisney.com and choose my ‘race weekend.’ At this point, you will see all of the options for races on that particular weekend. I choose one of the races that I am running and click on it. Here, I normally meet a waiting room page. At 10am, each person in the waiting room is assigned a random entry number and the ‘wait time’ will show an approximate time.

Other Important Facts

You can register for more than one race before going to the submit payment screen. You’ll need to answer all questions a second time for the second/third race registration.
You can register for more than one person before going to the submit payment screen. (I normally register myself and my mom for more than one race.)
Be sure to have the name, address, phone number, emergency contact information, birthdate and shirt size of everyone you are registering.
I always register for the most important race first. If something is super important, register for that race and pay for it. I have been in the registration process when I went to submit and it either timed out or a race was sold-out. I had to restart the whole process. If you are trying to get a coast-to-coast, register for the half or full marathon first and pay for it. Go back and register for the 5k or 10k separately - just my experience!
