I have always envied the families walking with the Cast Members dressed in all plaid outfits. They looked so happy and were whisked from the back of lines to the front. They seemed like the they were having the practically perfect day. Well, we finally had the opportunity to become one of those families and I've listed all of the important information I kept searching for in the review below!
Disney VIP Tours
Disney Private VIP Tours
See below for June 2025 update
Pick-Up
Our Private VIP Tour started with an 8:15am pick up at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort after we had eaten breakfast. We picked the start time with the expectation that our daily start time would give us at least 7 hours minimum with our guides. This is the minimum time to book a VIP Tour.
Lyssa and Bryttny - the best tour guides ever!!!! They picked us up in an inconspicuous van and gave us our new plaid lanyards and matching VIP plaid celebration pins. This was a surprise from my husband, as we were at Walt Disney World, celebrating my birthday. 🙂
**Normally, you will have one guide with you. Lyssa was training Bryttny so we had the pleasure of getting to know them both!**
Our Party
Our party was made up of five people - me and my hubby, my mom, and our two boys, ages 2.5 and 6.5. Our oldest son had not made the leap to ‘big boy’ roller coasters and rides yet but wanted to try. We were concerned that our youngest would not get the most out of the day since he was so small. I’m telling you all of this background but this proved to be the best day for both of our children. My oldest, with the help of our guides, was placed in the correct seat in each coaster so that he had a great view and the slowest, least scary seat. They were helpful in talking to him to see how much excitement he wanted for each ride. I will honestly say today, at 7, he rides all rides because of Lyssa and Bryttny. If our oldest was on a ride with one of us, they checked our youngest into a smaller ride nearby for him. It was the best of both worlds.
Starting the Day
Instead of the typical check-in, when we arrived at MK, we had our bags checked at a side entrance (yes, diaper bags get the full check too!) We parked in a back lot and entered on the side of Mainstreet, U.S.A. I wanted a picture in front of the castle with the whole family, so we stopped here first. In the van ride over, we gave them a list of items we wanted to accomplish and they set up our day. We were along for the ride but allowed to change directions whenever, wherever we wanted.
Our Guides
We finished our day with a ride at EPCOT and got a backlot drop off again for our dinner reservations to Le Cellier. This is where we parted ways with our new friends. (SIDE NOTE: This is also where it is customary to give a tip to your guides for great service. You’ll get great service. Be prepared to thank them.)
**There aren't many ATMs in the parks. Prepare to take enough cash with you!
Our guides were our riding partners, keepers of Disney secrets they were willing to share with us during our day, and babysitters to our children. (SIDE NOTE: If your little ones will ride with them, they will ride with your little ones - be sure to tell the person booking if you don’t ride and you want a guide that does! They will also wait with your children if your children can’t ride the ride but your children must be willing and not crying for you!) Our guides were kind and funny. They were family members by the time we finished. I can’t wait to take the boys back, if we are fortunate enough to be able to do it, to ride with them again on a Private VIP Tour in the future.
Do I recommend?
This was, for anyone interested in riding, a great way to accomplish all the rides you want in one swoop of a day. You could easily complete all of the 'big rides' at all of the parks in one day and relax for the rest of your vacation after completing this tour. For that reason, I think it is worth the price tag, and I would do it again.
Let's be super honest here... I'm trying to figure out when our youngest will be tall enough to ride the bigger rides so we can see Lyssa and Bryttny again! :)
Park to Park & Lunch
Our day consisted of Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. We did a quick lunch at the Starbucks in HS - Lyssa had a direct line to order our food so it was ready when our ride finished! (SIDE NOTE: Make sure you are prepared to pay for any food your family orders or buys for lunch or snacks. None of the food is included.)
Your paid time allotment for the day continues while you eat and travel. Our guides recommended something quick and easy for lunch so we didn't waste time. You could book a sit-down meal if you wanted to do so but it would cut into your ride time significantly. Not my recommendation if you are VIP Touring.
Other Items of Interest
-
Tours can be booked for up to 10 people in your group. So gather those extended family members and VIP, people!
-
You DO NOT skip all lines. If it possible to Lightning Lane a ride, you will go directly to the Lightning Lane entrance. For us, this meant a long wait thought the videos and rooms before Guardians of the Galaxy. We spent a lot of time riding this one in two groups since our toddler wouldn't stay with the guides alone. They warned us about this ahead of time but we decided to do it anyway. Make sure you are listening to this advice.

As of June 2025, if you are booking a VIP Tour, you can also book MINNIE VAN to and from the airport. This is normally reserved for guests in the club-level only. YOU GET ACCESS with a VIP Tour!

Ride the Haunted Mansion - it's worth it!
Disney VIP Tour - 2nd Tour (April 2025)
Pick-Up
This time around, we did pick up after our breakfast at a different hotel. We had breakfast at Disney's BoardWalk at The Cake Bake Shop (amazing!) and then got a pick up at 9am at their entrance.
Four Parks, One Day
You read that correctly.
We started with Animal Kingdom, went to Magic Kingdom, headed to Hollywood Studios, and finished at EPCOT. (See the rides we accomplished below.)
This was a LONG day, and I would probably choose to do it differently next time. I'm not sure we all enjoyed the late part of the afternoon because we had just run so much. We only had one day in the parks before our cruise, so this allowed everyone to do everything that they wanted. For that reason, I'll say it was 'worth it.'
THE NEW MERCHANDISE
As of now, VIP Tour Guests that stop into Magic Kingdom have the ability to purchase merchandise specifically designed for VIP Tours.
I purchased a Christmas ornament that looks like plaid Mickey Ears and a black VIP Tour hat with the signature tartan plaid on the under side of the brim.
Our Guide
Kellie was our guide this time around and she was PERFECT for us. Disney VIP Tours does a great job of matching you with your guide. Our kids LOVED HER. We loved her. I can't say enough wonderful things about a person you've just met and the eight hours you spend together.
** REMINDER AGAIN**
There aren't many ATMs in the parks. Prepare to take enough cash with you to tip your amazing tour guide!
Do I recommend?
This is definitely a higher ticket item that is a very far stretch for many, many families. I feel fortunate that we had a chance to do this is a second time.
If this is in your budget, and you are interested in saving time, for sure do it. If you want to stroll through the Disney theme parks and enjoy the atmosphere, maybe this is a skip.
As for me, I'll be counting my days until I can justify spending the money for a VIP Tour again.
